Official talks between Minister Mircea Dusa and Defence Minister of the Republic of Slovenia

Defence Minister Mircea Dusa met with his Slovenian counterpart Andreja Katie on September 14, at the Headquarters of the Republic of Slovenia's Defence Minister.

We wish to identify those cooperation fields that can contribute to the stabilization and security of the Euro-Atlantic space and its vicinity, the Romanian defence minister stated.

During the bilateral talks, the two officials approached topics referring to the current security situation from the extended Black Sea region, focussing on Ukraine and the Balkans.

Minister Dusa emphasized our country's availability in contributing to the international community's assistance efforts for Ukraine, highlighting Romania's contribution to the European Union and Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe's missions from the region.

Defence minister accentuated the importance Romania gave to turn the strong potential of its relations with Slovenia profitable by intensifying the high level political and military dialogue as well as the contacts in different fields.

I would like to express my appreciation for the excellent co-operation between our armed forces' specialists within NATO HUMINT Centre of Excellence from Oradea. As Romania has been conducting common activities with Slovenia and other states as part of the International Association of Military Mountain Schools (IAMMS), we consider that your country's initiative to establish the Mountain Troop Centre of Excellence is more than welcome, Mircea Dusa stated.
Also today, the two officials will participate in the handover ceremony of IAR-93 aircraft donated by the National Museum of the Romanian Aviation to the Slovenian Armed Forces' National Museum. During the ceremony, minister Katie will award medals to the people who contributed to this project.
