Soldiers Injured in Afghanistan

Three Romanian troops involved in Resolute Support mission in Afghanistan were slightly wounded by the explosion of a car bomb, around 10.00 hrs., on Sunday, September 20.

The soldiers were carrying out a patrol mission in their area of responsibility, at about eight kilometeres north of the military base in Kandahar.

The soldiers received first aid on site and were then taken to the hospital of the military base in Kandahar, where they are still hospitalized but in a stable condition.

The three soldiers are part of the Dragonii Transilvani Force Protection of the 811th Infantry Battalion: Lieutenant Adrian Ciprian Iriciuc, Corpopral 3rd Class Sergiu Andrei Lineschi, both on their second mission in Afghanistan and Corporal 3rd Class Ion Ichim, at his first mission in a theater of operations.

The leadership of the defence ministry is permanently updated on the heath condition of the three soldiers.
