Military Aircraft on Humanitarian Mission

The Minister of National Defence approved that a medevac C-27J Spartan aircraft of the Romanian Air Force carry out an emergency humanitarian mission today, September 30. The mission consists in the transfer, from Cluj-Napoca to Bucharest, of four adult patients, who were injured during a fire at a house in Noslac locality, Alba County.

The military aircraft took off from the 90th Airlift Base of Otopeni, at 22.30 hrs.

During the flight the patients are assisted by a medical team coordinated by SMURD. The team consists of dr. LTC Dragos Tudose, paramedic Corporal Cristinel Panait and rescuer Corporal Gabriel Paunescu from the 90th Airlift Base.

The mission is carried out at the request of the Department for Emergency Situations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, while the crew is made up of Captain Commander Emil Tecuceanu, Lieutenant Commander Ovidiu Dragomir, Captain Claudia Voicu and WO Ovidiu Lupu.
