Special Operations Forces Captain Mircea-Stefan Popa, deployed in mission in the theatre of operations from Afghanistan, was injured following an insurgent attack on the convoy of military vehicles he was in.

The captain was hemodynamically stabilized on the spot and evacuated afterwards to a battlefield hospital.

The Ministry of Defence leadership is attentively monitoring the health condition of the injured commissioned officer.
