Humanitarian missions performed with military aircraft

Two C-27J Spartan aircraft of the Romanian Air Forces designed to perform MEDEVAC missions, will execute two emergency humanitarian missions on Friday night to Rotterdam, Netherlands, (the estimated take-off time is 03.30 am) and Brussels, Belgium (the estimated take-off time being 05.00 am) in order to transfer several patients injured in the fire produced at Colectiv Club.

Nine patients, six of which are mechanically ventilated, will be transferred to Netherlands, and eight patients will be taken to Belgium, three of which are also mechanically ventilated.

During the flights, the patients will be provided medical care by SMURD-coordinated medical teams, which will be supported by MoND doctors and medical personnel.

The missions are performed at the request of the Emergency Situation Department of the Ministry of Interior.

The journalists who wish to be present at the transfer and embarking procedures of the patients are waited at 90 Airlift Base, Otopeni, 1st Zborului Street, starting with 01.30 am.
