Official Visit of the Polish Chief of Defence in Romania

The chief of General Staff, Lieutenant General Nicolae Ciuca, received Lieutenant General Mieczys³aw Gocu³, chief of the General Staff of Poland, at the defence ministry, on Tuesday, November 17, during his visit in Romania.

General Ciuca briefed his Polish counterpart on the priorities of the Romanian Armed Forces in the near future, the Romanian troops' commitment to Resolute Support mission in Afghanistan, and the stage of implementing the tasks deriving from the Alliance's Readiness Action.

General Ciuca reiterated the idea that emerged from the high-level meeting of Central and Eastern European of November 4, co-chaired by the presidents of Romania and Poland, regarding Allied Solidarity and Shared Responsibility with a view to consolidating security in the Black Sea region up to the Baltic Sea, so that partner countries be ready to meet all challenges and threats.

General Ciuca thanked his Polish counterpart for the support given by the Multinational Corps Northeast from Szczecin, Poland, that offered the information needed to establish the South-Eats Multinational Division in Bucharest.
