The Distinguished Visitors Day of Multinational Exercise PLATINUM LYNX 16.2 will take place at Smardan shooting range, at 13.00 hrs., on December 11, 2015.

Journalists interested in participating in the activity are expected to arrive at Smardan shooting range (Cismele village, Galati County) between 11.30 and 11.50.

PLATINUM LYNX 16.2 module, a part of Multinational exercise BSRF 15.2 (BLACK SEA ROTATIONAL FORCE), takes place over 7 to 11 December 2015.

During the exercise, the 300th Mechanized Brigade and the 284th Tank Battalion train together with troops from the Republic of Moldova and the USA.

The exercise focuses on the training in joint combat operations, raising obstacle dams, carrying out fire with the Romanian Land Forces tanks TR 85 M1 and MLI 84 M and US TOWs (Tube Optically Tracked Wire Guired).

The exercise also aims at planning and implementing operating procedures for close air support of ground operations with A10 aircraft of the US Air Force that fights armored vehicles or other targets on the ground.
