Patients with Serious Burn Injuries Transferred from Chisinau to Bucharest by a Military Aircraft

A C-27J aircraft of the Romanian Air Force configured for medevac missions makes an emergency humanitarian flight on the Otopeni - Chisinau - Otopeni route, today, January 10, in order to transfer three patients who suffered bad burn injuries in the Republic of Moldova, on Saturday, January 9.

The military aircraft took off from the 90th Airlift Base of Otopeni, at about 11.00 hrs.

The medical equipment and assistance are provided by a SMURD medical team supported by military doctors and paramedical staff.

The mission is carried out at the request of the Department for Emergency Situations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The crew of the aircraft consists of Lieutenant Commander Florin Ianculescu pilot, Captain Claudia Voicu co-pilot, WO Ovidiu Lupu loadmaster, Lieutenant Colonel Dragos Tudose doctor and Sergeant Gabriel Mardale paramedic.


Journalists interested in assisting in the transfer of patients into SMURD ambulances are expected at the 90th Airlift Base of Otopeni, 1 Zborului St., between 13.30 and 13.45 hrs.
