A ceremony was organized on the occasion of the promotion in rank of several retired generals and officers at the Marble Hall of the Palace of the National Military Club, on Thursday, January 14.

Seven war veterans, colonels and commandors, and nine retired colonels will be promoted to the rank of general by Presidential decree, at the proposal of the minister of defence.

Other five war veterans, generals and admirals, and three retired generals will be promoted to the next rank.

The ceremony will end with a show of Ion Dacian Operetta and Music Hall Theater.

Journalists who intend to participate in the ceremony are expected to arive at the Palace of the National Military Club, between 17.15 and 17.45 on Thursday, January 14 (1 Constantin Mille St.).

The promotions in rank were based on the decrees of the President of Romania, in agreement with the provisions of Art. 94 para. b) and Art. 100 of the revised Constitution of Romania amended and completed by Law 415/2002 on the organization and functioning of the Supreme Council of National Defence.
