The State Secretary for Armament, Gabriel-Beniamin Les, participated in the activity National Defence Industry Plays a Major Role in Modernizing Romanian Military Fleet, organized at the Palace of the National Military Club, on Thursday, January 28. The event brought together experts from the Ministry of National Defence, decision-makers from the Romanian Government, the Ministry of Economy, Commerce and Relations with Business Affairs and representatives of the Romanian naval yards.

The event conducted under the aegis of SURFACE WARSHIPS 2016 conference, organized by International Quality Productivity Centre aimed at presenting the national defence capabilities, especially in the naval field.

The state secretary for armament expressed confidence that the meeting would be an opportunity for the naval industry and would allow interested parties to identify solutions and domestic economic operators specializing in producing naval systems and equipment.

During the activity, the experts of the Department for Armament briefed the audience on the procurement and strategic programs and the cooperation opportunities with the national defence industry and the implication of the domestic economic operators in conducting such programs.
