The Minister of National Defence, Mihnea Motoc, received H.E Karsten Vagn Nielsen, the ambassador of Denmark to Bucharest, at the defence ministry, on Monday, February 1.

The two officials talked of the satisfactory bilateral and multilateral cooperation and assessed the opportunities to intensify defence cooperation, given the security context of the Euro-Atlantic region.


The Ambassador of the Kingdon of Denmark spoke highly of the progress made by Romania in terms of its defence budget, that would get as high as 2 percent of the GDP in 2017.

Related to the future Warsaw NATO Summit, Minister Motoc highlighted the importance of keeping an eye on the Black Sea region, with a view to continuing the process of the Alliance adaptation to the new security environment.
