While participating in NATO Defence Ministers Meeting, the Romanian Defence Minister, Mihnea Motoc, met with the British Secretary of State for Defence, Michael Fallon, on Wednesday, February 10.

The two officials talked of the satisfactory development of the Strategic Partnership between the two countries, as reflected by the tight cooperation of the two NATO delegations.

They exchanged views on the agenda of the Defence Ministers' meeting that includes highly important elements for the preparation of the future NATO Summit. A particular attention was given to consolidating collective defence and deterrence, including an increased allied presence, by augmenting the allied presence on the Eastern flank and the possible role Great Britain might play in this respect.

Minister Motoc accepted the invitation of his British counterpart to continue the dialogue in London, at a date that will be established by mutual agreement.
