Humanitarian Mission of the Romanian Air Force

A C-27J Spartan aircraft of the Romanian Air Force configured for medevac missions carries out an emergency humanitarian flight on the Otopeni - Tirgu Mures - Otopeni route, today, February 18. The mission consists in transfering four patients with severe burn injuries to Bucharest.

The military aircraft took off from the 90th Airlift Base of Otopeni, at about 15.40 hrs.

The medical equipment and assistance are ensured by a SMURD medical team, assisted by military doctors and paramedics.

The mission is carried out at the request of the Department for Emergency Situations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The aircraft is operated by a crew consisting of Commander Emil Tecuceanu - pilot, Captain Simona Maierean co-pilot, Lieutenant Colonel Dragos Tudose doctor and Sergeants Dumitru Miu and George Marfale - paramedics.
