The Annual Report of the General Staff on 2015 took place today February 29, in the presence of the chief of General Staff.

The deputy chief of the General Staff and the chiefs of directorates made an analysis of the General Staff structures, the way they met their goals, the previous year's achievements and the priorities of 2016.

The deputy chief of General Staff, Major General Adrian Tonea, said that several activities were conducted last year related to the response and intervention reaction for national missions and fulfiling the military commitments Romania made to NATO and EU and other international organizations.

They reviewed all General Staff areas of responsibilities: personnel dynamics, missions in theaters of operations, the security situation in the area, military education, procurement programs, budget planning and execution, logistic elements, operational medicine, standardization, force protection, cooperation with the other elements of the national security system.

General Ciuca pointed out that while fulfilling its international commitments, the Romanian Armed Forces continued their transformation and modernization process with a view to increasing the operational capacity. At General Staff level there were many transformations in this respect; the participation in training sessions, support of the population in emergency situations at the request of local authorities, participation in missions in theaters of operations continued to be priorities of the Romanian Armed Forces.

At the end of the activity, Generalul Ciuca highlighted the main objectives and lines of action for 2016 and congratulated the personnel of the General Staff, the military services, the subordinated commands, for their dedication and professionalism in 2015.
