MoND at BSDA 2016

The Ministry of National Defence will be present with personnel and equipment at the 6th edition of the International Exhibition on Defense, Aerospace, Homeland Security, Cyber Security and Safety & Security - BSDA 2016 that will open at ROMAERO S.A. exibition facility, at 09.00, on Wednesday.

During this year's edition, taking place over May 18 to 20, aircraft of the Romanian Air Force - MiG-21 Lancer, C-27 J Spartan, IAR-99 Soim and IAR-330 Puma SOCAT will make demonstration flights while troops of the Defence Intelligence General Directorate will carry out a counter terrorism drill on the first day of the exhibition.

The Military Equipment and Technologies Research Agency and the Military Technical Academy of the Department for Armament will be present with their own displays, prototypes, solutions and results of the military scientific research. Representatives of the Land, Navy and Air Forces, of Carol I National Defence University and the Management and Human Resources Directorate will present their main achievements and educational offer.

The still display will offer the opportunity to see aircraft of the Air Force and equipment of the Land and Navy forces.

BSDA 2016 is a good opportunity for the experts to participate in conferences on the challenges of the defence and security industry, to get updates on the last technologies developed in Romania for armament export and the procurement plan of the Ministry of National Defence, to see the develoment of the airspace industry or the impact of the cyber threats in the Black Sea region.

This year's edition will bring together over 250 companies from 25 countries from America, Europe and Asia and 9 military delegations from Bulgaria, Croatia, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, France, Georgia, the Republic of Moldova, Thailand and Turkey.
The Ministry of Justice and the National Administration of Penitentiaries will present drills on May 20, while the Romanian Intelligence Service will organize a second conference on Regional Cybersecurity.

A special event will be the presentation for the first time in the world of Roboscan AERIA, a unique technology developd by MB Telecom, that can scan the fuselage and wings of an aircraft in order to detect smuggling or theatening products on board of an aircraft or hidden in the structure of an aircraft. Also as a premiere, Bell Helicopter will present at BSDA areplica of the attack helicopter AH-1Z Viper.
