The Strategic Dialogue at the level of state secretaries and the meeting of the Mixed Commission on Defence of Romania and the Republic of Moldova took place in Bucharest over May 16 and 17.

The agenda included talks on bilateral defence cooperation, the security situation in the region and aspects related to the involvement of the Moldavian Republic in organizations and initiatives of regional cooperation.

State Secretary, Stefan Tinca, stated that Romania will continue to actively endorse the Republic of Moldova within the international and regional military and political organizations it is part of.

In turn, State Secretary Aurel Fondos, expressed his satisfaction as to the support Romania gives to developing capabilities of the National Armed Forces of the republic of Moldova.

Also, the two officials highlighted the importance of continuing joint exercises and training, simulation included.

At the end of the talks, both parties appreciated the benefits brought by the works of the Mixed Commission on Defence to the bilateral relations in general and established that the dialogue between the defence ministries should broaden.
