Reunnion of the Mixed Committee on Defence Cooperation with the USA and the Presence of Foreign Troops on Romanian Soil

A meeting of the Romanian-American Mixed Committee took place at the Ministry on National Defence on June 1, with the purpose of implementing The Agreement Between Romania and the USA on activities of US troops stationed in Romania (DCA) and The Agreement Between the United States of America and Romania on the Deployment of the United States Ballistic Missile Defense System in Romania (BMDA).

The working sessions were headed by the co-presidents of the Committee, namely Stefan Tinca, State Secretary for Defence Policy and Planning and Major General David Allvin, Director, Strategy, and Policy, Headquarters U.S. European Command.

During the meeting, the Romanian and US officials reviewed the activities conducted since the last meeting of the Mixed Committee. They also assessed the common activities conducted for the implementation of the DCA and BMDA agreements, mainly the stage of the works at military bases in Deveselu and Mihail Kogalniceanu.

During the meeting of the Mixed Committee the Implementation Agreement was signed on the facilities and areas agreed upon at the end of a negotiation process that started in 2014.
