Romanian Land Forces at Multinational Exercise ANAKONDA-16

Over 250 troops and about 40 equipment and vehicles of the 812th Bistrita Infantry Battalion will participate in the multinational exercise ANAKONDA-16, that is conducted in training facilities of the Polish Armed Forces, over June 7 to 17.

The exercise involves over 25,000 troops from 19 NATO member states (Albania, Bulgaria, Canada, Czech Republic, Croatia, Estonia, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, Great Britain, the Netherlands, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, the USA, Turkey, Hungary) and four partner states (Georgia, Finland, FYROM and Sweden). The big number of resouces involved makes the exercise the largest one conducted in Poland over the last 25 years.

ANAKONDA-16 is an exercise based on a fictitious scenario and its goal is to train troops jointly in commanding and carrying out military operations in a constantly changing security environment, to develop interoperability among NATO member and partner states and to meet the standardization requirements of the Alliance.
