Defence Minister's Participation in the Meeting of the Framework Nation Concept - FNC Coordinated by Germany

Minister Mihnea Motoc participated in the Meeting of the Framework Nation Concept - FNC Coordinated by Germany, on Tuesday, June 14, together with 15 of his counterparts from European, NATO* member states.

The activity was chaired by the German Defence Minister. Its goal was to take decisions concerning the establishment of large units in support of NATO Readiness Action Plan, with the contribution of FNC states and the specific results of this intitiative with a view to Warsaw Summit.

Minister Motoc reconfirmed the consistent committment of Romania to this intiative and spoke of the initial contribution of our country to the establishment of large multinational units under the umbrella of FNC, comprising a combat structure of brigade level and other support units.

The German defence minister spoke highly of Romania's contribution to the establishment and rendering operational of a force package at the disposal of the Alliance, by involving European allies for the accomplishment of NATO essential missions, especially where collective defence is concerned.
