Defence Minister's Meeting with the Ambassador of Poland to Bucharest

The Minister of National Defence, Mihnea Motoc, received H.E. Marcin Wilczeck, the Ambassador of Poland to Bucharest, at the defence ministry, on Wednesday, June 23.

They discussed bilateral defence relations, regional security and the preparations for NATO Summit in Warsaw. The meeting offered the two officials the opportunity to reassert the positions of their respective countries relative to the main Euro-Atlantic problems and mutual support within the Alliance.

In this context, Minister Motoc appreciated Poland's commitment to the reassurance and deterring measures adopted by NATO on the eastern flank. This commitment is a major contribution to the re-confirmation of the cohesion and unity of the Alliance at Warsaw Summit.

At bilateral level, the two officials talked of their interest for intensifying military cooperation of the two countries and they analyzed the opportunity of cooperating in areas of mutual interest, especially in troops training , missile defence and technical and military cooperation.
