The National Association of War Veterans and the Ministry of National Defence organize the first edition of the War Veternas' Marathon VeteRUN, Steaua Cup from 11.00 hrs., on Sunday, June 26.

The competition is a popular movement in which citizens and soldiers express their respect and appreciation for war veterans, wounded and invalids as well as families of soldiers that died during WW2. Partners in organizing the event are Steaua Sports Club and Beraria H.

The route of the marathon covers Piata Presei Libere, Soseaua Kiseleff, Arcul de Triumf, Piata Victoriei, Bd. Aviatorilor, Piata Charles de Gaulle, Bd. Maresal Constantin Prezan, Arcul de Triumf, Soseaua Kiseleff, Piata Presei Libere.

The competition will bring together children that are members of Steaua Sports Club, soldiers who participated in missions in the theaters of operations of Afghanistan, Iraq and Western Balkans, children, teenagers and adults who wish to honor war veterans.

The regulation, subscription, route, prizesand the complete program of the event can be obtained by accessing the website: veterun.armataromaniei.ro. Those interested in participating in the run can subscribe in the morning of the competition as well, between 08.00 and 10.00 hrs., in the start area at the entrance of Herastrau Park, at Pavilionul H. Here a display of military equipment will be organized as well.
