State Secretary for Defence Policy and Planning, Stefan Tinca, received a delegation of the US Congress, headed by Jason Chaffetz, chairman of the United States House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, at the defence ministry, on Thursday, July 21.

They discussed mainly bilateral cooperation at various levels and the decisions taken at the NATO Summit in Warsaw.

The priviledged character of the bilateral relations was highlighted, mainly the Strategic Partnership between the two countries, when note was made of the constant support the USA offered for the modernization of the Romanian Armed Forces, but also the satisfaction for Romania's involvement in operations abroad.

On the other hand, the importance was stressed of implementing the decisions taken at NATO Summit in a coherent manner, especially where the allied adapted presence in the Black Sea region is concerned.
