Romania Invited at the Invictus Games 2017

As a result of the discussions held at the level of the defence minister and the chief of General Staff with their Canadian counterparts, Romania was officially invited to participate in the 2017 edition of the Invictus Games, with a team of paralympic sportsmen, wounded military men, veterans of the theaters of operations.

The Ministry of National Defence started the process of participation confirmation and subscribing the Romanian team to Invictus 2017. The process, the selection of the sportsmen and strategy of preparation and training are conducted through the Paralympic Section of Military Sports Club Steaua, Bucharest.

Invictus Games are organized by the Foundation with the same name, under the patronage of Britain's Prince Harry, in order to increase the awareness of the public to the problems of wounded, injured or sick armed services personnel and their associated veterans, to inspire recovery and support rehabilitation.

The first edition of the games that took place in London in 2014 is followed by Invictus 2016, organized in Orlando, Florida, the USA.

The 2017 edition of the games will take place over September 24 to 30 in Toronto, Canada, bringing together almost 600 sportsmen, who will compete in 12 sports.
