The Minister of National Defence, Mihnea Motoc, received H.E. João-Bernardo Weinstein, the Ambassador of Portugal to Bucharest, the the defence ministry, on Wednesday, September 21.

The talks focused on defence cooperation both at bilateral level and within the Alliance and the EU.

Implementing the decisions taken at NATO Summit in Warsaw and the Global Strategy of the EU were also topics on the agenda. Minister Motoc expressed his appreciation for the contribution of the experts of the Portuguese Air Forces to the training of the pilots and technical staff that will operate F-16 Fighting Falcon aircraft of the Romanian Armed Forces.

The bilateral military dialogue will continue as the visit of the Portuguese defence minister, Jose Alberto de Azeredo Lopes, is scheduled to take place soon.
