The Minister of National Defence, Mihnea Motoc, received EDA Chief Executive Jorge Domecq at the defence ministry on Monday, October 3.

The visit takes place in the context of drafting the Plan of Implementing the EU Global Strategy of Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.

They discussed mainly the role of the agency in implementing the strategy, focusing on the development of capabilities, identifying key-strategic activities and strengthening the European defence industry. They also talked of the implication of the defence ministry into EU-led projects.

Minister Mihnea Motoc stressed Romania'a endorsement of the EU Security and Defence Policy and of the active role the agency should play in the development of robust military capabilities. Mention was made of the multinational cooperation projects promoted within Pooling and Sharing concept .
