SEESIM 16 in Bucharest

Computer-assisted simulation exercise SEESIM 16 (South-Eastern Europe Simulation 2016) will take place at the Center for Simulation and Electronic Warfare of the General Staff in the building of Carol I National Defence University, over October 10 to 14.

SEESIM 16, one of the main projects conducted under the aegis of SEDM, aims at promoting cooperation, coordination and interoperability during civilian and military operations. It is also meant to improve the response to real crises in or among SEDM member nations, by means of an efficient computer modeling and simulation.

The 8th edition of SEESIM this year, hosted by Romania, having Croatia as co-director is also attended by Georgia and Ukraine. The Republic of Moldova participates as observer.

As a premiere, the agencies of the national security and defence system will participate in the computer-assisted simulation exercise as observers.

SEESIM 16 aims at improving the experience gained at the previous exercises, by testing the response capacities to emergency situations in case of natural disasters, humanitarian assistance, cyber defence and terrorism related events and the increase of interoperability among participating SEDM nations and SEEBRIG.
