General Nicolae Ciuca, the chief of General Staff, participates in NATO Strategic Direction South Conference, organized at Allied Joint Force Command (JFC) Naples, on October 12.

The agenda of the conference includes discussions on security in the Euro-Atlantic space, focusing on the security challenges in the southern flank of NATO and the area of confluence with the eastern flank of the the Alliance and the implementation of the decisions taken at Warsaw Summit. Also, they will discuss the evolution and developments of military cooperation among the countries in the region for a good security and neighbourly climate, as well as common training for improved interoperability of forces and development of response capabilities in crises situations.
