Friday, August 13, 04 Mircea school ship in training march on the North American Eastern Coast will departure from Sydney harbor for returning to the country. Crossing the Atlantic the ship of the Romanian Mircea cel Batran Navy Academy from Constanta will stop in Brest, the French harbor on September 26, 04 and after 15,000 miles will return to Constanta.

71 students from Mircea cel BatranNavy Academy and 31 students from Amiral Ion Murgescu Military Foremen School are on board of the ship that left the country April 19, 04 for Tall Ships Challenge 2004 organized on the US Eastern Coast and Canada. Between Charleston and Delaware Bay the Romanian ship gained the second place. During their march the Romanian sailors met the civilian and the military officials and visited the historical and tourist objectives and the ship was visited by more than 10,000 persons.

This march is the second one the school ship made on the US Coast, the first being in 1976 when Mircea took part to the anniversary of Bicentenary of the USA Independence.
