On Monday, October 31, Defence Minister, Mihnea Motoc, will participate in the 2016 Multinational Ballistic Missile Defence Conference which will take place in London. The activity is organized by the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics and the US Missile Defence Agency from the US Department of Defence.

As a special guest, the defence minister will present Romania's vision in the ballistic missile defence field as a host nation of the US Aegis Ashore system from Deveselu. On this occasion, the Romanian official will receive "David R. Israel" prize on behalf of the Ministry of National Defence, for meritorious results in the ballistic missile defence field and as recognition of Romania's efforts and active involvement in rendering Deveselu Base operational.

As part of the conference, defence minister will have a meeting with Vice Admiral James D. Syring, Director of the Missile Defence Agency, where common interest topics in the field of ballistic missile defence will be tackled.
