During a ceremony held at the defence ministry, Gabriel Beniamin Les took over the mandate of minister of national defence, on Thursday, January 5.

The new defence minister thanked his predecessor, Mihnea Motoc, for his activity as head of the institution and for their collaboration during his office as state secretary at the Department for Armaments.

In turn, Mihnea Motoc said he was convinced minister Les would have a successful activity as head of the Ministry of National Defence, as he was already accustomed to its function and projects.

The ceremony took place in the attendance of the chief of General Staff, General Nicolae Ciuca, as well as the the chiefs of services and main structures of the defence ministrty.
