The First Military Police Detachment Led by a Woman Officer Returned from Afghanistan

On Tuesday, February 14, at 10.00 hrs., a ceremony will be organized at the headquarters of the 265th Military Police Battalion, Tudor Vladimirescu, to mark the return from Afghanistan of the International Military Police (IMP) Detachment and the Army Institutional Advisory Team (AIAT) Detachment that participated in the Resolute Support Mission.

The ceremony initially intended to take place on February 9, was rescheduled on account of bad weather conditions that hindered the plane to arrive as planned.
Journalists interested in participating in the ceremony are expected at 09.30 hrs., on Tuesday, February 14, at the headquarters of the 265th Military Police Battalion, Tudor Vladimirescu (4-6 Antiaeriana Road).

The soldiers of the AIAT Detachment had the mission to counsel commanders and personnel of the main military education institutions and training centers of the Afghan Army. The IMP Detachment ensured order and security at the military base in Bagram.
The 4th rotation of the IMP Detachment is the first detachment deployed in a theater of operations that is led by a woman officer, Lt. Mirela Ivascu.
