The Air Base at Mihail Kogalniceanu will host on Tuesday, February 28, from 13.15, the first training of Romanian and US troops for loading maneuvers and assault operations with helicopters, as part of the US commitment to secure the eastern flank of NATO during Operation Atlantic Resolve.

The types of helicopers involved are UH-60 Black Hawk of the 3rd Battalion, 10th Regiment, 10th Combat Aviation Brigade of the US Army.

The 10th Combat Aviation Brigade is the first large unit of its kind deployed in Eastern Europe as part of Operation Atlantic Resolve, with over 2,200 troops, 86 helicopters and over 700 military equipment that left several ports in the USA heading to Germany, Latvia and Romania, as a demonstration of continued U.S. commitment to collective stability and security in Eastern Europe.

Journalists interested in participating in the event for footage and declarations of the Romanian and US troops are invited to send the information needed for accreditation (name and family name, ID number and series, press ID, name of the media organization they represent, car registration number) at e-mail address: presamapn@mapn.ro, by Monday, February 27, 12.00 hrs.

They are expected at the main gate of Mihail Kogalniceanu Air Base, on Tuesday, February 28, between 12.30 and 12.45, for security check.
