The Minister of National Defence, Gabriel Les, will participate in the Meeting of the EU Foreign Affairs Council in the format of EU defence and foreign affairs ministers, that takes place in Brussels, on March 6.

The talks will include the implementation of the EU global strategy in defence and security and the steps taken to develop the Common Defence and Security Policy (CDSP).

The defence and foreign affairs ministers will exchange views on preparing a progress report to be presented during the meeting of the EU heads of state and government on March 9 and 10. They will also discuss priority issues on the European agenda on defence and security, with focus on structured permanent cooperation, the coordinated review of defence, the permanent capability of operational and command planning, and EU commitment within CDSP.

Also, at the initiative of the High Representative of the European Union, the defence ministers will have a working breakfast during which they will discuss EU commitment within CDSP in the extended EU region.
