Defence Minister's Meeting with the Ambassador of Croatia to Bucharest

The Minister of National Defence, Gabriel Les, met with the ambassador of Croatia to Bucharest, H.E. Davor Vidi¹, at the defence ministry, on March 29.

The defence minister stressed the need to relaunch the political and military dialogue at high level between the two NATO and EU member states and the importance of practical military cooperation at military service level.

Minister Les highlighted the bilateral cooperation relations at political and military level within regional organizations, in the theaters of operations in the Balkans and during NATO-led multinational exercises. He also invited the Croatian side to enhance their participation in the bilateral or allied exercises conducted in Romania.

Ambassador Davor Vidi¹ pointed out he endorses an enhanced cooperation between the armed forces of the two countries and expressed the interest of his country for the Romanian experience in the acquisition program of F-16 multirole aircraft. Based on the common strategic goals of the two countries, the Croat ambassador vouched for a mutual support, in regional and international context, meant to enhance security and stability in the close proximity.
