Defence Minister's Meeting with the Ambassador of Slovenia to Bucharest

The Minister of National Defence, Gabriel Les, met with the ambassador of Slovenia to Bucharest, H.E. Mihael Zupaneie, at the defence ministry, on April 4.

The defence minister stressed the the importance to relaunch the political and military dialogue at high level between the two countries, both within NATO and the EU.

Mihael Zupaneie mentioned the importance of practical military cooperation at military service level, within regional organizations, in the theaters of operations in the Balkans and during NATO-led multinational exercises. He also noted the good cooperation of HUMINT Center in Romania and the Center for Mountain Training in Slovenia.

The Romanian defence minister invited the Slovene side to analyze the possibility of participating in making the Multinational Brigade in Craiova operational.

The Slovene ambassador stressed the importance his country gives to developing the cooperation relations between the armed forces of the two countries and to identifying new fields of cooperation, such as the multinational exercises hosted by Romania.

Minister Les launched the invitation that the Slovene defence minister make an official visit to Romania, later this year.
