The Reunion of the Inter-ministerial Committee

On April 11, at the MoND headquarters, the State Secretary for Defence Policy and Planning, Mircea Dusa, headed the extraordinary reunion of the Inter-ministerial Committee for the Implementation of the Agreement between Romania and the United States of America on the activities of US forces stationed on Romanian territory (DCA) and the Agreement on the Deployment of the Ballistic Missile Defence System in Romania (BMDA).

The reunion brought together state secretaries from different ministries and experts from institutions directly involved in the implementation of the Defence Cooperation Agreement.

As chairman of the Inter-Ministerial Committee, State Secretary Mircea Dusa emphasized the joint bilateral and multinational training exercises conducted by the Romanian and American troops this year on national territory but also the implementation status of the facility-building project of the US partner and the areas agreed upon for construction. The talks also focused on the proposals made at the Romanian-American Mixed Committee which took place in Bucharest, at the end of March.

The representatives of the participating ministries and institutions presented the way the requirements resulting from the DCA provisions and its implementation arrangements were accomplished.

The preparation status and inter-departmental cooperation in the conduct of the military exercises scheduled to take place this year on national territory with the participation of soldiers from allied and partner states were analyzed during a session of the Inter-ministerial Committee for the Liaison with the Foreign Armed Forces. The reunion was chaired by State Secretary Mircea Dusa and attended by representatives of the ministries with responsibilities in the field of the entrance, stationing and transit of the foreign armed forces on Romanian territory.
