The Minister of National Defence, Gabriel Les will leave for Valleta, Malta, in order to participate on Wednesday and Thursday in the informal meeting of the European Union (EU) defence ministers taking place over April 26 and 27.

Topics high on the European agenda will be discussed during the meeting, such as implementing the EU Global Strategy on the security and defence dimension and the stage of operations and missions under the aegis of the Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP).

The European defence ministers will discuss the permanent structural cooperation and ways of enhancing the Fast Response of the EU, especially regarding the EU's Tactical Combat Groups, as well as the operational commitment of the EU in the Mediterranean Sea region and Libya, with the attendance of the NATO's Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg and the United Nations Under-Secretary-General for peacekeeping operations Jean-Pierre Lacroix.

In marja reuniunii, ministrul Gabriel Les va avea o intalnire cu directorul executiv al Agentiei Europene de Aparare, Jorge Domecq, prilej cu care vor fi abordate aspecte prioritare de pe agenda europeana de aparare.

As part of the meeting, Minister Gabriel Les will have a meeting with Chief Executive of the European Defence Agency Jorge Domecq, when they will discuss the priorities on the European defence agenda.
