The Minister of National Defence, Gabriel Les, will participate on Thursday, May 18, in the meetings of the European Defence Agency (EDA) steering board and the Foreign Affairs Council in EU defence ministers format, taking place in Brussels.

The EU defence ministers will analyze in the attendance of NATO Secretary General, Jens Stoltenberg, the implementation of the EU Global Strategy in the area of security and defence, in order to prepare the Implementation Report to be presented at meeting of the European Council due in June this year and the stage of NATO-EU cooperation, in particular the implementation of the Joint Declaration.

During the meeting of EDA steering board they will discuss the development of military capabilities at European level, also the long-term priorities and goals of the Agency.

Also as part of the meetings, minister Gabriel Les will participate in a common working lunch with the EU ministers of internal affairs dedicated to discussing counter-terrorism.
