The arrival in Romania of the NATO convoys to participate in the NOBLE JUMP 2017 multinational exercise

Eight convoys of the Very High Readiness Joint Task Force (VJTF) to participate in the Noble Jump 2017 exercise will enter Romanian territory on Thursday, June 1, starting with 9.20 A.M, via the border crossing point between Romania and Bulgaria in Giurgiu.

The military convoys that will arrive in Romania following their disembarkation in the port of Alexandroupolis in Greece and after crossing Bulgaria consist in approximately 300 troops and more than 150 combat vehicles and troop carriers, and will travel to the Getica Ground Force Training Center in Cincu, Brasov County.

Journalists interested in attending the event of the first convoy arrival, for imagery opportunities and press statements, will be welcome on Thursday, June 1, from 08.00 to 08.30, at the entrance to the Giurgiu-Ruse Border Crossing Point.

It is important to be mentioned here that from 1 to 4 June, the road traffic may be heavier than usual on the following routes:
- 1 June 2017, from 09.00-20.00, itinerary Giurgiu-Bucharest (E85);
- 2 June 2017, from 00:01-18:00, itinerary Bucharest-Pitesti (A2)-Ramnicu Valcea (E81)-Sibiu (Valea Oltului)-Cincu;
- 3 June 2017, from 09:00-17:00, itinerary Giurgiu-Bucharest (E85);
- 4 June 2017, from 00:00-15:00, itinerary Bucharest-Pitesti (A2)-Ramnicu Valcea (E81)-Sibiu (Valea Oltului)-Cincu.

NOJP17 is a short-term notification exercise, planned and led by the Naples Allied Joint Force, and scheduled from 26 May to 16 June on the territories of Greece, Bulgaria and Romania.

Noble Jump 2017 will test NATO's ability to deploy its Very High Readiness Joint Task Force (VJTF) and confirm its ability to implement the Readiness Action Plan of the Alliance (RAP) in Bulgaria and Romania.

A NATO Media Information Center will operate in Sibiu, throughout the exercise, under the leadership of the JFC Napoli Public Affairs Office.
