The Romanian Minister of National Defence, Gabriel Les, and Michael Fallon, the British Secretary of State for Defence, will meet at Mihail Kogalniceanu Air Base at 16.00 hrs., on Wednesday, June 14, with pilots and technical staff of the Royal Air Forces Typhoon aircraft that came to Romania to conduct Air Police missions.

Four Typhoon aircraft of the British Royal Air Forces carry out Air Police missions side by side with Romanian MiG-21 LanceR, over May 1 to August 31, contributing to the development of the response capacity and strengthening the deterrence posture as well as to the consolidation of interoperability between Romanian and British military.

The deployment of the British aircraft to Romania is part of the implementation of the Readiness Action Plan of the Alliance both in the North and in the South, thus proving the unity and determination of the Alliance as response to the challenges of the security environment.
