NATO Defence Ministers' Meeting in Brussels

State Secretary and chief of the Department for Parliament Liaison and Public Information, Nicolae Nasta, will participate in NATO Defence Ministers' Meeting at NATO HQ in Brussels, on Thursday, June 29.

During the meeting, the allied defence ministers will discuss two topics that were raised in May in Brussels during the Special Meeting of the heads of states and governments, namely the equal division of tasks within the Alliance and enhancement of NATO's role in countering terrorism. At the same time, they will discuss the stage of implementing the decisions made at Warsaw Summit on the allied deterrence and defence posture.

The meeting agenda includes a working lunch with the participation of Federica Mogherini, the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Agenda and the representatives of Finland and Sweden, dedicated to analyzing the stage of implementing the propositions of NATO-EU Joint Declaration and aspects related to financing defence of the two organizations. Also, the defence ministerial will discuss NATO's role in Afghanistan for the next period of time, in the format of the Resolute Support Mission.

State Secretary Nicolae Nasta will participate in the meeting of the states contributing to implementing the Framework Nation Concept / FNC organized by Germany when they will analyze the progress made over 2016 to 2017 and identifying future cooperation solutions.
