State Secretary Mircea Dusa received the visit of Kadja Bukar Abba Ibrahim, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of Nigeria, at the Department of Defence Policy and Plannig, today, July 14.

The main points on the agenda were concrete defence cooperation projects of the two countries. The two officials emphasized the important role of the Strategic Partnership between Africa and the EU in the current international security context that generates concrete results in counterring terrorism and the proliferation of small arms.

Another topic of interest was the bilateral cooperation within the UNO. By participating in UN-led missions, Romania and Nigeria have an important contribution to increasing stability and enhancing peace in the world.

At the end of the meeting, Mircea Dusa expressed his conviction that the current level of bilateral defence cooperation will expand in the future, based on the provisions of the inter-governmental agreement on defence cooperation.
