Defence Minister's Meeting with the Defence Minister of Macedonia

The Minister of National Defence, Adrian THutuianu, had a meeting with the Defence Minister of Macedonia, Radmila ©hekerinska, at the National Center of Joint Training in Cincu, on Saturday, July 15, during her visit in Romania related to the participation in the DVDay of exercise Saber Guardian 2017.

During the meeting the two officials discussed the stage of the military relations of the two countries and the possibilities to intensify cooperation at bilateral level and within the Partnership for Peace Program.

The Romanian official pointed out that the meeting represents a step forward in giving a new impulse to the high-level political and military dialogue and mentioned the importance of the practical military cooperation at the level of the three services. He made an invitation to the Macedonian forces to participate in as many multinational exercises conducted in Romania as possible.

Speaking of the important role of Macedonia in the regional organizations of cooperation in defence and security, the Romanian defence minister thanked for the support offered during Romania's chairmanship of the project Female Leaders in Security and Defence, developed during SEDM, and especially for the participation in the conference on gender issues organized in Bucharest, over June 12 to 16.

He also mentioned Macedonia's special role within PfP and the progress made towards the Euro-Atlantic integration and praized that they made available critical capabilities in military medicine and public relations for the allied and partner nations.
