Defence Minister's Meeting with the Ambassador of Denmark in Romania

The Minister of National Defence, Adrian THutuianu, received the Ambassador of Denmark to Bucharest, H.E. Karsten Vagn Nielsen, at the defence ministry HQ, on Wednesday, July 26.

The two officials discussed the projects of defence cooperation of the two countries, with emphasis on identifying ways of extending it at operational level as well. Minister Țutuianu highlighted the combined participation in the allied missions and the multinational projects of the Alliance, including Smart Defence concept that was launched at NATO Summit in Chicago in 2012.

They also discussed the developments of the security situation in the regions of interest, countering hybrid threats and cooperation within NATO and the EU. In this respect, minister Adrian Țutuianu spoke of the progress made at national level on the forward tailored presence on the eastern flank of the Alliance, along the three operational dimensions.

I strongly belive that the long-term solution is to consolidate the defence capacity and the resilience of the NATO partners, in the East and in the South, to endorse the omnidirectional approach. As far as the eastern partners are concerned, Romania is actively supporting the intensified allied efforts towards Georgia, the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine, defence minister Adrian THutuianu declared.
