The Minister of National Defence, Adrian THutuianu, had an official meeting with the Director of the Intelligence Committee and Military Security of the Saudi Arabian Armed Forces, Major General Abdulaziz Ibrahim Alswailem, during the latter's visit in Romania, at the invitation of the general director of the Defence Intelligence General Directorate.

The meeting agenda included talks on the recent security developments in the Middle East, the refugee crisis, Resolute Support Mission in Afghanistan and identifying new ways to extend cooperation in the field of military intelligence.

During the talks, defence minister THutuianu said that Romania is interested in Saudi Arabia's expertise in political and security developments in the region and that we have all the resources to build a solid partnership, especially when it comes to a complex region like the Middle East.
