The Minister of National Defence, Adrian THutuianu, received the Ambassador of Italy to Bucharest, H.E. Marco Giungi, at the defence ministry, on Tuesday, August 8.

The two delegations discussed the good high level political and military dialogue pointing out that the operational level of the Romanian-Italian military cooperation offers opportunities of development in different fields.

The defence minister said he was optimistic about the development of bilateral cooperation, including the NRDCITA and MNDE-RO.

The talks agenda included the defence budget, namely the two percent of the GDP allotted to defence over the next ten years, regional security and the cooperation within NATO and the EU.

It is important to continue a coherent and unitary approach to the eastern flank of the Alliance, in order to respond adequately to the deterrence and defence requirements against the threats that occur in the Black Sea region, minister Adrian Țutuianu stated.
