The Minister of National Defence, Adrian THutuianu, hosted the visit of the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Stella Ronner- Grubaeiae, at the Ministry of National Defence, on Wednesday August 23.

The discussions were a good opportunity to strengthen the strategic dialogue on topics of mutual interest, such the cooperation within NATO and the EU, but also aspects of bilateral relations, with emphasis on the development of cooperation in the technical and military field.

The Romanian defence minister highlighted the interest of the Romanian side to develop the relation with the Dutch partner and to consolidate bilateral cooperation through practical training activities, but also by conducting educational programs.

Both sides voiced their interest for an enhanced cooperation aimed at countering terrorism. They also discussed the program of acquisitions carried out by the defence ministry with a view to modernize the Romanian Armed Forces, in the context of allotting two percent of the GDP for defence.
