Visit of a delegation from the People's Republic of China

A delegation from the People's Republic of China, headed by Lieutenant-General Yi Xin, chief of the science and technology commission, within the Central Military Commission was received by General Nicolae Ciuca, at the defence ministry, on Tuesday, September 12th.

The meeting was meant to develop and strengthen the cooperation relations with the Chinese partner, as stipulated by the Agreement between the Ministry of National Defence of Romania and the Ministry of National Defence from the People's Republic of China on defence cooperation.

The delegations discussed identifying cooperation opportunities in the field of training, education, surgical medicine, UN-led peacekeeping operations and missions, including the operational and tactical levels.
China is one of the most important partners of Romania in Asia at military level. Over the last years, high level visits and contacts were organized, that ensured an active dialogue was maintained in line with the priorities of the national agenda.

The Chinese delegation had a meeting at the Department for Armament, Monday, September 11th, another meeting with the deputy chief of the department, Brigadier General Ionel Lotan and representatives of the Technical Military Academy and the Military Equipment and Technologies Research Agency.
