The Minister of National Defence, Mihai Fifor, will make a working visit to Washington over September 17th to 22nd.

The delegation includes General Nicolae Ciuca, the chief of General Staff, Florin-Lazar Vladica, state secretary for armament, chiefs of central structures of the ministry.

According to the visit agenda, the defence minister will meet with James Mattis, the United States Secretary of Defense, Ricky Waddell, deputy national security adviser, members of the US Congress and representatives of the main companies of the US defence industry.

The delegation will participate in a wreath-laying military ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknowns in Arlington National Cemetery.

The Strategic Partnership with the United States is one of the main defence and security pillars of Romania, that contributes directly to strengthening its EuroAtlantic profile, being an essential one in the present complex regional and international security environment.
