Defence Minister Mihai Fifor had a meeting with the defence minister of the Lebanese Republic, Yaacoub Sarraf, on Monday, November 27th, during the latter's official visit in Romania.

The topics discussed included the security situation in the Middle East and the defence cooperation of the two countries. The delegations signed the Agreement on Defence between the Government of Romania and the Government of the Lebanese Republic when the two officials stressed the importance of the document as basis for the development of the cooperation relations in a wide range of common projects.

Defence Minister Mihai Fifor pointed out Romania's strong commitment to continuing the international efforts in the Middle East.

The two officials spoke of their belief that the fruitful discussions and signing the Agreement would contribute to the development of the political and military dialogue and enhancing cooperation between the armed forces of the two countries.
